Privacy Policy
Several different types of user are recognised:
Guest
Anyone can view the public information posted to the site without logging in. Registration is only necessary if you want to access restricted areas of the site, which for security reasons are hidden and inaccessible to all guest users.
The only information recorded for guest usage is that which is collected for statistical purposes, mainly the page being accessed, the IP address and browser information if available.
Basic
Basic registration gives extended access to the site:

The Basic registration will ask for the following information:
- Username
- Email address
This is your login id (a 'nickname' as it is often called). Because this may be visible to other users, we recommend you don't specify a username which contains any personal information.
As part of the registration process, we will send an email to this address, confirming the registration application and including an initial password. This must be a valid email address and you must be able to receive email at this address in order to view the initial password.
Club Player
Registering as a club player brings additional benefits.

(if your chess association has an agreement with us).
In addition to the Basic registration questions (above),
we will also ask for the following:
- Club
- Surname & Forename
We will use this to check your club details and determine whether the affiliated chess association has signed up for our online results service.
If the chess association affiliated with your club has signed up for our online results service, we will use your surname & forename (and also the email address you registered with) to locate your player reference with the association. Once we have found your player reference, your surname & forename are recorded, and any results you submit to your association will have your surname & forename details (and email) included.
